Summer Camp 2010

Children have a summer of fun while learning Japanese, Chinese or Spanish with our outstanding international faculty.

They discover culture and unique animals from around the world through crafts, games, math, geography, and cultural arts. There are different themes and activities each session!

  • Campers can try a new language or practice one they know
  • Small groups with native-speaking teachers
  • All camps have crafts, gym specialists, cultural performers and ice-cream treats!
  • Kinderdance for ages 3-5
  • Walking field trip to Waterfront Park fountain (grades 1+)

Swimming for grades 1-5! Campers will have swim lessons twice each week with the qualified instructors of the Barefoot Swimming group at the 10th Avenue Athletic Club! To get to the club, campers will take a short ride each way on the Portland Streetcar! (max 5 campers per staff member)

NEW! This year’s camp themes will honor the countries and cultures represented at TIS. All classes in all languages will explore the session’s unique animals, learn about their habitats, what they eat, how they travel, and how they have adapted to different climates and surroundings.
