Auction Gala Volunteer Resources
Thank you for becoming an auction volunteer! On this page you will find resources to help you with your auction projects.
The 2015-16 Auction Gala was held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Sentinel Hotel downtown Portland. The Gala is TIS' largest fundraising event; we raised nearly $240,000 that will directly and immediately benefit TIS students! This event funds educational technology, teaching tools, classroom equipment, teacher professional development, and more.
The success of this event depends largely on the work of our amazing group of parent volunteers. Thank you for your time and commitment to the success of this event and our students!

Class Baskets & Artwork
Class baskets and artwork are among the items that bring in the most revenue for the school in all sections of the auction on event night.
Below are some ideas for your class basket or art piece. Each idea should be emailed to our class basket/artwork coordinator, Reba Akin, for approval prior to execution. Throughout the progress of each project, please fill out the appropriate form(s) below with accuracy so that we can properly thank each person involved in the success of your project. Thank you for helping our students!

Class Baskets/Artwork forms:
*** Note: We may no longer take bottles of liquor to include in our baskets per OLCC laws. Beer, wine, and cider is ok, but must be in factory-sealed containers. Please inform your class and keep in touch with the class basket/artwork coordinator so that your basket can fall within the guidelines. Please DO NOT drop off alcoholic beverages to teachers in classrooms; you may coordinate with Lisa Olivares for pickup on either campus; or you can drop off your donation to the Arthur Street Administration Building at 0122 SW Arthur Street (three blocks up Corbett from the main campus).
Auction sponsorship is a wonderful way to promote your business while also supporting a great cause! We provide many opportunities for sponsor recognition before, during and after the Gala. Your investment as a sponsor lets the community know that you are a partner in educating bilingual, self-confident global citizens. If your business is interested in sponsorship, please review the sponsorship benefits outlined in the document below. For questions or more information, please contact Lisa Olivares, Alumni and Community Engagement Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 503-226-2496 x116 to set up a meeting.
Volunteer Position Descriptions and Time Commitments
Our event day volunteers are among the most important people of the evening. Without you, we wouldn't be able to pull it off so beautifully! Please be advised: some of these jobs require lifting/moving in excess of 20lbs. Many volunteers may bring a change of clothing/shoes in order to get the job done comfortably! See descriptions of various event day volunteer jobs below.
