The library has had a makeover! During the summer Frank and his crew re-painted, re-carpeted, remodeled the sink area and updated furniture! In addition, the library has added hundreds of new book titles, purchased in part with funds from the Winetasting event last May.
First-graders attend library class every other week for 45 minutes. During library classes students will learn information literacy and library skills, study IB Learner Profiles through discussions and stories, check out books as well as have time to relax and read in a cozy corner.
The IB Learner Profile for October is Communicator. We will focus on good communication in social interactions, particularly anti-bullying techniques introduced by author Trudy Ludwig last May.
Your child may check out two books at a time for a period of two weeks or the next library class. Books may be renewed if needed. If you would like to check out books or other materials more often, please feel free to stop by the library after school.
I am happy to answer questions about the library program or to assist in finding just the right book for your child. Looking forward to a great year!
