First grade music has been incorporating a lot of instruments lately! We are taking rhythmic poems, breaking them down into notation and then orchestrating them with our instruments of choice.
A new challenge we have started to work on is adding a simple bourdon to songs that we have learned. I have already seen a lot of excitement from the classes as they work on playing specific xylophone pitches in a rhythmic pattern. I
n addition to our seasonal poems and songs, we are also working on our solo singing voices with games like Charlie Over The Ocean and of course we take time for practicing British dances. The year is moving along quickly and I am feeling excited about the musical path we are pursuing!
