Hello! It is already October and we are working hard in Kindergarten music. We have been experimenting with different types of instruments in each family of the woods, metals and membranes. Our time with the new instruments allows us to learn proper technique while improvising rhythms and collaborating with other classmates. Everyday includes a section of steady beat work with marching activities, dancing and body percussion. The music room would just not be complete without singing and games so we make sure to have time to work on pitch and melody with traditional and unique songs. If your child is walking around singing about bluebirds, jumping jim joes or clapping out rhythms it just might be an opening to talk to them about music class! They are amazing people that I am very excited to assist as they grow into fantastic musicians!
