Art News from Carolina - 4/18

Low K students have been revisiting the idea of problem solving in art class by using their imaginations to turn old non-recyclable materials (such as caps, pieces of old wood, etc) into new pieces of artwork. We have talked about Picasso’s placing old bicycle parts together to make a bull and have read a book called “The Beautiful Oops”, about how we can work on mistakes and turn them into opportunities for making art.

Students will creatively solve problems with recycled materials in art for the whole month of April. All of their works are so amazing that some have already made it to the art show, while others are quickly filling up the bulletin boards at Hilltop!
