Kinder is in the midst of their cultural studies and in joining with that unit we are working on some pieces from France, England, Morocco and Indonesia. The students are getting really good at playing Rock, Paper, Scissors in Indonesian. It is a great way to prepare students for instrumental playing as well as reinforcing steady beat.
Our dance this week involves the class in singing a fun children’s French song. The students are allowed to improvise some of the dance moves while still keeping a clear structure. We have not mastered the lyrics yet but I believe that *Sur le pon d’Avignon *as well as *Fais Do Do *are two French songs the students can learn.
Instruments are also reaching into foreign lands with most of them coming from Africa and South America. I’m excited to see what the students learn and I hope ya’ll have a great weekend!
