First grade has just finished their wool project. We created a planet all about ourselves and finished up the background with spectacular galaxy boxes.
Being the inquirers that we are, we researched pictures of supernovae and discussed what colors can form in space. Then we decided to take these colors and personify our own galaxies!
The whole project included an inquiry into the process of wool, from farm to art table. It also included a close look into what symbolism is, so we could design our planets and also make them about us.
We had loads of fun, and many kids decided to put their planets in the art show!
If your child does not show up with a box with planets dangling from it, next week, this is why.
Have a joyous and safe holiday season and see you in January!
