Jan 23, 2015: Art

First Graders are getting ready to experiment with clay! We made drawings inspired by Miro to get us started thinking about this next project. Miro was a Spanish painter who was considered a surrealist. He would make very geometric creatures based on his dreams.

Students have painted creatures of their own and now they will build their favorite one!
For many, this will be their first experience with ceramics and glazing. Many are very curious about our kiln and I promised to give them a tour (of course, whenever the kiln is turned off!)
I can't wait to see what creations will emerge of this project.
Watch for Miro paintings in select boards of the hilltop building!
