October 17, 2014: Art

Our wooden art doll, George, has visited all of the PreK classes. He helps us see the shapes in the human body. We started by drawing George and really trying to see him as a collection of shapes. The children were very observant and those shapes were clearly reflected in their drawings. It’s very exciting to see them seeing the body as a serious of shapes and really looking at just one part of the body, drawing it, and then moving onto the next part. Next, we made a family of “Georges” which we then turned into our own family by adding flesh and clothes and other details! We are now working on drawing the shapes that make up animals.

Carolina will be back on October 27th and we will spend that last week of October working together to create a very smooth transition. Thanks and Happy Autumn,
