Substitute Teacher Requirements
To be considered as an on-call substitute teacher, applicants must submit all of the following forms completed and returned the Personnel Office prior to being interviewed for the on-call substitute teacher list:
- A completed Application Form: Provide all information requested, use NA if not applicable. Information provided becomes part of the contract, if elected. Sign the back of the application.
- Transcripts (copies are accepted) of all college or university credits. The transcripts become part of the applicant’s personnel file. Certification is not required for substitute teaching.
- Resume & References: Submit a professional resume which includes academic preparation, experience and other qualifications for on-call substituting.

- I-9 Complete section 1, Employee Information, at the top of the form, sign and bring your identification (a driver’s license and social security card or a passport).
- Background Check: On-call Substitutes Are Responsible for Background Check Fees. Results from previous research of background check must be within the last twelve months.
NOTE: The Payroll department will not release paychecks until all of the required employment forms have been submitted to the Personnel Office. Employees are responsible for notifying the Personnel Office of any changes in address or telephone number.
