Giving

Thank you so much to all our donors!

girl-and-teacherMost independent schools in America rely on donations to educate students. Likewise at TIS, tuition is not enough to cover the cost of educating students so we rely on contributions from families and foundations and other outside donors. We are a registered 501(c)3 organization, so contributions are tax-deductible as long as no goods or services are received in exchange.

The Fundraising Planning Committee (FPC) is an advisory committee to the Head of School that oversees fundraising programs at TIS. The FPC is chaired by the Development Director, and includes the PTO president, volunteer chairs of the major fundraisers, and the Marketing & Admissions Directors. The Development Director also works closely with the Head of School and chair of the board’s Development Committee to develop and oversee the school’s overall fundraising strategy, capital campaigns, and major gifts programs.

The school’s fundraisers are mostly run by volunteers, so your help is essential! In an effort to curb and focus our fundraising activity, TIS will have five major fundraisers in the ’09-’10 school year. Please use this list to help plan your volunteer time and your contributions.

The Wine Tasting is a fun spring event that raises money for a specific TIS program. In past years, funds benefited the Library Media Center and Capstone Fifth Grade Study Abroad. TIS also supports a few small fundraisers that support the budget and rally our community. These programs are carefully limited and chosen by the FPC to provide benefit while not overwhelming our community. Supported programs include Box Tops for Education, Friends & Family nights, and bake sales. For information please contact: PTO@intlschool.org.
