Nov 2009 BLT Special Appeal

redhairDuring the November 14, 2009 live auction, we took a break from auctioning items to ask for support for the Auction special appeal. The appeal funded Books, Learning Resources and Technology (BLT!) to support a vibrant learning experience for TIS students.

Books
When students learn through the IB-PYP, they start by asking questions. This special appeal will give them the resources to find the answers to their questions through age-appropriate research, reading and collaboration.

The special appeal purchased themed bins filled with multiple copies of non-fiction books and items such as maps, DVDs and CDs. Each bin was specially assembled for one “unit of inquiry,” targeted to a specific grade-level, and includes books and items in each target language. The bins are kept in the library for teachers from prek through fifth to check out when their class is ready to study that unit.
