Run for the Arts
Run for the Arts is a jogathon that assists students, teachers and parents in raising money to purchase art programming for our school. In past years, Run for the Arts has raised funds for:
- A new kiln for the art room
- Students to attend plays throughout the greater Portland area
- Performers to come to The International School
- Special art supplies for each classroom
- Books for the English program
- A new audio system for performances at school
The International School’s Run for the Arts program is organized by International School parent volunteers in conjunction with the Pacific Northwest’s Run for the Arts non-profit organization. All contributions to Run for the Arts are tax-deductible.

Specifics for this year’s fun
- The run took place October 2, 2007.
- Students should ask for sponsorships, then collect all funds after the run.
- Checks should be made payable to “Run for the Arts” or “Young Audiences”, with “TIS” in the memo line.
- Sponsorship forms and all funds should be brought to your child’s teacher soon after the run. Late returns cannot qualify for t-shirts and prizes (the school must meet a deadline with Young Audiences to get t-shirts and prizes).
- If you would like to contribute and don’t have a runner to sponsor, please just make your check out to Run for the Arts and send it into the school office at 025 SW Sherman Street, Portland, OR 97201.
- Thank you!
