Curriculum Preview Night

Wednesday, April 16 for the Spanish track
Thursday, April 17 for the Chinese and Japanese tracks

This week the school will host Curriculum Preview nights to give parents an opportunity to hear about some of the work your children will be doing in the upcoming year. This is a great chance to answer your questions about how one grade is different from another, and the sort of expectations we have for our students as they move through the program. Teachers will also talk briefly about the International Baccalaureate curriculum that we will begin to teach in September. The format for the program is as follows:
For current TIS students GOING INTO Low-K, Kindergarten & 1st grade: 6:30 to 7:00pm
For current TIS students GOING INTO 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th grades: 7:10 to 7:40pm.
For grades with two sections we have not yet formed class lists for next year. Please note that we do not promote a class as a group into the next grade level. We will mix the classes up to allow the children opportunities to work with and make friends with all the children in that grade level. Please do not assume that the teacher you meet with this week will be your child's teacher next year.
For grades that have two sections, families should go to the following classes:

Spanish:
Current 2nd graders should go to Fernando's classroom.
Current first graders should go to Pilar's classroom.
Current kindergarteners should go to Ivonne's classroom.
Lucy' low-kindergarten class should go to Ferran's classroom
Jossie's low-kindergarten class should go to Adela's classroom.
Vicky's pre-kindergarten class should go to Lucy's classroom.
Mary's pre-kindergarten class should go to Jossie's classroom.

Chinese:
Current first graders should go to Wenny's classroom.
Qiong's kindergarten class should go to Jennifer's classroom
Tina's kindergarten class should go to Hu Nan's classroom.
Aiyun's low-kindergarten class should go to Qiong's classroom.
Helen's low-kindergarten class should go to Tina's classroom.
Yu Yen's pre-kindergarten class should go to Aiyun's classroom
Shirleen's pre-kindergarten class should go to Aiyun's classroom.

I do hope you can join us for the evening. In past years families have found this an informative time to set the stage for the following year.
