PTO positions open! Meeting/elections Wed, May 13

The signs of spring are all around TIS: cherry blossoms are drifting, families linger in the sun on the playground after school, and the majority of first graders have grown their front teeth.

Most telling of all, the Parent-Teacher Organization is seeking recommendations for officers for the 2009-10 school year. If you would like to be involved in next year’s PTO, please send an e-mail to me. Likewise, if your room parent this year was particularly on top of things, or you know of a fellow parent who is opinionated and passionate about the International School, please put their name forward so that we can tap their talent. The positions available and a description of their role are listed below.

With an incoming head of school, and implementation of the IB, the 2009-10 year will be exciting and seminal for TIS. I must be honest that the PTO is a certain amount of work, but I can promise that next May when the blooms come forth, the Kindergärteners suddenly look gangly, and the fifth graders are worldly, it will all be worthwhile.
