Run for the Arts Assembly and Field Trip

Reaping even more rewards from their Run for the Arts (RFA) efforts will make for a merry month of May for all students at TIS.

First, on THIS Thursday, May 7th all 3rd-5th grade classes will attend the Northwest Children's Theatre 's performance of "The Hobbit." Students will ride school buses to the performance--which means no carpooling necessary for parents. However, the English Department is requesting one parent per class to help chaperone. Permission slips were distributed early last week. They must be returned as soon as possible to ensure that your child can attend.

Lunches that day: Please make sure your 3rd-5th grade child brings a lunch that does not require a microwave for that day - the children will be bringing their lunch on the bus and eating before the play. If your child gets Big Town Hero that day, BTH will make early deliveries to enable the children to take their lunch with them.

For the PK-2nd grade students we will be bringing in Tears of Joy Puppet Theatre to perform "Stellaluna" in the TIS gym on Thursday, May 21st. There will be three performances that morning to conform with the occupancy limits of the gymnasium. Chaperones will be needed help escort the PK classes down from the Corbett Building for the first performance that morning (scheduled to start at 8:45). Please let your classroom teacher know if you are available to assist. Unfortunately, due to the occupancy limits, PK chaperones will be the only parents able to attend these performances. .

Both events are being paid for by RFA funds earned by the students during the Run for the Arts last Fall.
