What's your neighborhood - and other TIS contract changes

Contracts for next year will be mailed over spring break  and will have a few changes from last year. Please read them carefully.

1. There is a space to write in your neighborhood. This information will be used only to create a list of families by neighborhood in next year´s school directory instead of the zip code list we have been publishing. If you do not want to be included in the neighborhood list, please just leave that field blank.

2. The contract now has check boxes to indicate what information you want to have published in the directory. This is instead of the separate form that we sent out last year.

3. We have simplified the medical information. One change in this section is that we no longer ask your permission to call an ambulance at your expense if we believe your child should be rushed to the hospital. The school needs to be able to call an ambulance if, in our best judgment, your child may need emergency medical treatment. We always contact parents in such an event, though if a child´s life seems in danger and time is of the essence, we may call 911 first.

4. Photo release. Many parents do not check any of the boxes indicating permission or no permission granted to use their child´s photo for marketing purposes. The new contract states that if no box is checked, we may use your child´s photo for marketing purposes WITHOUT any personal identifiers.

If you have any questions or concerns about any of this, please ask me, Jan or Alfonso.
