2nd & 3rd grade parents chair/co-chair Auction

Dear parents,

We all know that the Annual TIS Auction is the social highlight of the year in Portland, but did you know that the auction is also the largest source of income for the school other than tuition? Thanks to the generosity of our community who offer gifts of time, goods, services and money, the auction continues to grow and become more and more successful every year.

We need your help to deal with our "growing pains"  and are implementing some changes to accommodate this amazing growth. Beginning this fall, the auction will be "Chaired" by the 3rd grade families and "Co-Chaired" by 2nd grade parents.  Every family will be asked to sign up for a committee. Responsibilities will range from very small time commitments for those with restraints to larger amounts of time for those who are able to jump in on at a larger level.

This set up will create a wonderful way for parents across tracks to get to know each other better and the work load will be much less work for everyone involved because of the sheer number of volunteers.

Carrie Banks (incoming 3rd grade parent) has agreed to Chair the auction again this fall for this initial set up. There are many incoming 3rd grade parents with a plethora of backgrounds and experience in putting on the auction so it is a wonderful year to pass that information on to the incoming 2nd grade parents.

The PTO will be putting on Volunteer Coffees over the next few weeks.  A breakdown of the Committees will be available to peruse and sign up for -- early birds get the desired jobs!!!  There are positions for every talent... reach down and find that internal party planner just screaming to break out!

Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you at the coffees!
