Alfonso's news for May 3

Dear Friends,

The Spanish track students, ably guided by their teachers, put on a terrific show last Friday morning at the Gerding Theater. The show had everything from Neruda Poetry, to music and dance, to drama. Thank you all!

This week students in grades 3-5 will be taking their state tests on the new Macbooks. Last week Jhoanna Co masterfully led them through practice sessions to become acquainted with the technology. Being digital natives, they picked it up easily.

Last Saturday night TIS hosted guests at our annual Wine Tasting. Many thanks to event co-chairs Susan Marcus, Paula Prince, Cheryl Meloy, and Kathy Guilfoyle and to the many volunteers and sponsors for such an enjoyable event. Proceeds will benefit the TIS Library Media Center.

This photo is from a day of Earth events put on by the TIS Green Committee and Coach Robert. The children learned a lot and had fun - thank you to all involved!

I am out at the PNAIS (Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools) Heads Conference near Seattle today and tomorrow, so please do behave well with Michael and Frank and Company at pick up and drop off time.

Wishing you a sunny week,
Alfonso, AOrsini@intlschool.org, 503-226-2496 x109
