News from Alfonso – Jan 3

Dear Friends,
As expected, I have just barely found time to write this to you on this busy day of return to school.

The major news today is to commend the School Council and the entire school community for gathering over 1000 lbs. of food during our pound per person food drive for the Oregon Food Bank. The School Council did an excellent job this term and they will be welcoming the newly elected council members next week after we hold elections this week.

This Friday evening we will have the grade 5 fun evening from 3:30- 7:30 in the gym. Parents of grade five students who are attending please remember to supply dinner and snacks (non microwaveable preferred).

A reminder that for next week's PTO meeting, the PTO has arranged for Ms. Julia Tomes to come and speak to parents about positive discipline. Mark your calendar for January 12 at 6:30 p.m.

And thus begins the long but rapid march toward spring! Have a good week.
