Access Library Resources from home

There is something for everyone on the Library’s web site – intlschool.org/library! Students will find links to PYP resources, monthly Library Lessons, spelling, math and keyboarding games, a daily literature quiz, kid-friendly search engines and databases, interactive storybooks, as well as the online Library Catalog and more. Teachers and parents will find useful databases, informative articles, book lists, links to other libraries around the world, as well as Digital Inquiry Bins connected to each PYP Unit of Inquiry (in progress).

Our subscription databases include World Book, OSLIS, Tumblebooks and Bookflix. On the library web site (intlschool.org/library), under "For Parents" - use the TIS All-Parent password to see "Passwords for Parents" for access to WorldBook & OSLIS.

WorldBook Online
The World Book Web is a suite of online research tools that includes encyclopedia articles, primary source collections, educator tools, student activities, pictures, audio, and video, complemented by current periodicals and related Web sites. "Read-Aloud" and "Translation' abilities are located in the Tool Box found in the articles

Gale Databases/Oregon School Library Information System (OSLIS) - (see the ITK e-mail for password info)

  • OSLIS is a SAFE environment for kids to do Internet-based research.

  • Quality licensed online databases are now accessible to all K-12 Oregon schools.

  • There are a large variety of reliable information resources available at one location.

  • Online tutorials and access to information resources help Oregon's students learn.

  • There are age appropriate articles with reading levels defined for K-12 (lexiles).

  • Information skills practice provided by information literacy curriculum framework.

  • It provides the resources to instruct students on citing work and how to research.

  • Content is varied and includes a multitude of magazine, encyclopedia and newspaper resources.

  • It provides the most current and constantly updated information.

  • Access from home is available so students can do research at night and on weekends.

  • Student achievement improves on the Oregon statewide assessment in schools where OSLIS is used.

Tumblebooks
An online collection of animated, talking picture books. Available in English and Spanish.

BookFlix
An online literacy resource that pairs fictional video storybooks with related nonfiction eBooks. Available in English and Spanish.
