NO nuts on campus

Effective immediately, TIS is a "NUT-FREE" campus. We now have enough students with serious nut allergies that instead of creating no nut classrooms, we are declaring the entire campus to be NUT FREE. Please do not send any kind of nuts to school with your child, including peanut butter or cashew-nut butter. If a food was processed in a facility that processes nuts, that's ok as long as there are not any nuts in the ingredient list.

In addition, if your child is in a class with a child who has an extreme nut allergy where other precautions are necessary, we will let you know early in the year. As a general sanitary precaution, all teachers have students wash their hands before and after eating.

I apologize if this policy makes lunches more difficult for some families where peanut butter is a staple, but it is very important for our students' health.
