Hello, Nyob Zoo. I was born and raised in Merced, California; fast forward, I graduated from California State University, Sacramento. A week before my commencement, I moved to Bangkok, Thailand to become a guest English teacher at Chitralada Palace School, perhaps the most prestigious school in Thailand. There, I enhanced my bilingual mentoring skills. Upon my return to the U.S., I moved to Oregon.

My native tongue is Hmong. It took me a very long time to learn to embrace what a special gift I have in being bilingual regardless of how uncommon my language and culture is. I believe TIS is a special gift in which young learners are given the opportunity to succeed through their definition of what is success. I am truly blessed to be a part of the wonderful TIS community.
