Upcoming Festivals

About Chinese New Year and Japanese Sakura Matsuri. Both festivals will be livestreamed at justin.tv/intlschool and professionally recorded (DVDs will be for sale).


Friday Feb 8 is the TIS Chinese New Year Festival at the PCC Sylvania Performing Arts Center. Performances will be:

9-10am:

  • Chinese Track performers: PK, LK, 2nd, 4th 
  • Adult audience: parents of students in those grades
  • Student audience: classes of Paola, MariaL, Taka, Lizette & Pilar

11am-noon:

  • Chinese Track performers: K, 1st, 3rd, 5th 
  • Adult audience: parents of students in those grades
  • Student audience: Masami & Constanza's classes

Chinese track 9am performers: parents please bring your child(ren) directly to the theater. Classes should be arranging carpools to get the students back to school afterwards (and to & from a class event if there is one afterward). There is plenty of parking although it does cost $5 per car.

Chinese track 11am performers: Classes should be arranging carpools to get the students to and from the theater (and to & from a class event if there is one afterwards). There is plenty of parking although it does cost $5 per car.

The designated Spanish & Japanese track classes will travel to and from the theater on school buses since their parents are not involved in the show. Chaperones are not needed (space at the theater will be fairly tight.)


Friday Feb 22 is the TIS Japanese Track Sakura Matsuri Festival at the University Place Hotel. The show will start at 10am:

  • Japanese Track performers: all grades
  • Adult audience: parents of Japanese Track students 
  • Student audience: classes of Adriana, Norma, Jennifer, Gloria, Ivonne, Hu Nan and Sophia

Japanese track performers: Classes should be arranging carpools to get the students to and from the event (and to & from a class event if there is one afterwards). There is a charge for parking in the hotel lot.

The designated Spanish & Chinese track classes will travel to and from the theater on school buses since their parents are not involved in the show. Chaperones are not needed.
