What are the social dynamics in our culture today that lead to "bullying" and peer aggression? What does the research tell us about support structures and changes we can put in place to reduce peer mistreatment? What can parents do to be helpful and effective in raising hardy, authentic, resilient children? Ruth Matinko-Wald is a Portland-based parent educator with Family Empowerment Network, the creators of the Raising Our Daughters and Raising Our Sons books. She will share with us the latest research on bullying and on the challenges of raising our children in today's screen-centric world.
Following the talk, Ruthie will stay on hand to share the benefits of participating in Raising Our Daughters/Sons Parent Discussion Groups - in anticipation of starting groups here at the International School.
