Oregon Koto.jpg

Oregon Koto-kai (Oregon Koto Association) is a musical group instructed by Koto master Mitsuki Dazai. Koto is one of the traditional musical instruments of Japan, having been brought from China over a thousand years ago. It has 13 strings, each with their own movable bridge, stretched across a paulownia wood body. The player uses ivory pickswhich create its unique and special sound. The basic structure of the Koto has remained unchanged from its beginnings, and its unique musical voice has been protected and held in veneration for many hundreds of years.
