Students running the school!

As part of an auction package, two lucky students had the opportunity to be Principal and Head of Early Childhood for the morning with Ron Young and Maria Abad. Beau and Titan visited other classes, had an extra special snack time, and drafted their own ITK post to share with our wonderful community. Below is the notice from Beau, a second grade student, and a visual representation of what it's like to be the Head of Early Childhood from Titan, the LowK student.

Dear TIS Community:

I am very lucky to be your Principal for the morning. As noted through my schoolwork, I am qualified for this position because of these characteristics: I am kind, I have a sense of humor, and I am friendly.

As your Principal, I've learned that being a leader at school is awesome because I get to give my class a special snack, declare an extra recess, and get hot chocolate.

If I were Principal all year long, I would like to make these new rules:

- everyone can have a key card to get into the building
- every grade gets 1 hour of recess
- every Friday is for a special treat

There are a couple of announcements I would like to remind the whole school about: have a smiley face, be good, and be a good learner! Finally, going to TIS is the best!

Sincerely,
 Your Principal for the Morning

Titan, our Head of EC for the morning, explains his job duties as: Greeting people in the morning, reading to other students for Second Step, passing around special snack for his class, and interviewing for a TA job.

Thank you to all who participated in this fun day!
