Help us keep our school campus and the area around it clean and beautiful

Separate sign up with SOLVE encouraged to participate in trash pick up. Sign up not required to attend for other activities.
Campus Replanting
Help replant our hillside near Owly Court! Bring some gardening gloves if you have them — get your hands dirty and help us grow!

PLANTS AND POLLINATORS
Make your own seed balls with flower seeds
Combine clay and seeds for a plant-able craft that will help grow more plants for pollinators in your yard.
NATIVE PLANT SALE BENEFITING ISP
With generous support from Bosky Dell Native plants, we are offering native plants for purchase at our event! Fill your garden with the plants that will help our critical pollinators, and attract butterflies and hummingbirds.

Bring Clean, gently loved Owl School shirts — join the swap and give these shirts a second chance.
CREATE YOUR OWN CLOTHING PATCH
Bring some old clothes and stop by our mending station at the fair and learn how to fix your clothes with fun and creative patches!
FREE SEED PACKETS TO HELP OUR LOCAL BUTTERFLIES AND BEES
BONSAI CARE
LEARN HOW YOU CAN RAISE FRIENDLY, STINGLESS MASON BEES IN YOUR OWN YARD
Kids love to watch them work, and they’ll pollinate the fruits and vegetables in your home garden.
TAKE COMMUNITY ACTION
Learn more about H.O.P.E. Honoring Our Precious Elders, an organization that provides free yard maintenance for elders in Beaverton and Portland. HOPE has been working with ISP second graders already--come learn more about how to be involved.


JAPANESE ECO WRAPPING WITH FUROSHIKI
Learn how to wrap objects using reusable cloth instead of disposable bags or wrapping paper that will just be thrown away!
Try fun and easy wrapping styles using beautiful fabric squares inspired by Japanese tradition. Hosted by Portland Japanese Garden.

THINGS TO BRING: WASTE-REDUCING ACTIVITIES
As we come together to celebrate and care for our planet, we’d love for you to bring a few things along to help reduce waste!
- Your favorite reusable coffee cup and/or refillable water bottle — let’s sip sustainably!
- Clothes for you and your kids to mend — we’ll have a mending station to give old favorites new life.
- Gardening gloves — get your hands dirty and help us grow!
- Clean, gently loved Owl School shirts — join the swap and give these shirts a second chance.
- Don't forget a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the event!



BIKE BUS
Come ride with us on a young-pedal -biker-friendly paced ride over the Tilikum Crossing Bridge to ISP’s Earth Day Event. Continue the fun by biking on the closed street in front of the school!

Meeting Location: 45.50725° N, 122.66350° W
This is the plaza between OMSI South parking lot and OMSI/ SE Water Street light rail Station. It is about 1 mile from the meeting point to ISP
Meet Up: 8:30-8:45 am
Departure time: 8:45AM
Arrival at ISP: ~9:00AM

CARGO BIKE TEST DRIVES
ISP biking families will share their own various models of electric cargo bikes. Don’t miss this chance to try them out yourselves! (a limited number of helmets will be available)
KICK OFF WALK & ROLL TO SCHOOL MONTH!
Get rewards for biking, carpooling, or using the bus or train to get to school, even if you try it once!
Everyone who takes part is ALSO eligible for a drawing to win additional amazing prizes!

NEW! BULKY WASTE DISPOSAL
A dumpster will be available during the activity fair for ISP families and the surrounding neighborhood to dispose of large items!
PLEASE no chemicals, oil, paint, solvents, propane tanks, tires, batteries, computers, televisions, microwaves, or construction/remodeling debris. List of all prohibited items
